Global Insulations Solutions Partners with the Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity, Ali Al-Abed and the Libyan Korean Vocational Training Center in Tripoli, Libya.
Global Insulations Solutions’ CEO Jonathan Carris, met with The Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity, Ali Al-Abed, in Tripoli on his visit to Libya. During his visit, they were able to discuss the new Libyan mineral wool insulation joint-venture partnership of GIS and Libyan Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) and the needs of the new manufacturing plant being built in Misrata, Libya. The Minister was excited to explain the recently opened new training departments at the Libyan Korean Vocational Training Center (LKC) and expressed a desire for a greater partnership. GIS was able to tour the facilities and was impressed by the offerings and management. GIS has always believed that they have a corporate social responsibility to promote and support vocational education and training and found that Minister Ali Al-Abed and the LKC embraced that philosophy. As such, it was with great pleasure that GIS entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the LKC with an objective of improving the quality of life of the Libyan workforce through the development of technical skills and proper work values/attitudes. GIS will partner with the LKC to create a new specialized training program specific to the mineral-wool insulation industry and accept approximately 400 students/trainees to undergo an in-plant training program.
